Celebrating leadership and inspiration at the St Mary's College "100 Day Dinner"!

Last week, the Year 12 leadership group at St Mary's College hosted an unforgettable evening, bringing together senior leaders from various secondary schools in Toowoomba.

Amidst laughter and camaraderie, students enjoyed a three-course meal and the stage came alive with the incredible musical talents of St Mary's students, Ben Thomas, Cade Geiger, and Alex Fischer.

A highlight of the night was the inspiring guest speaker, Alastair Doljanin, the 2020 College Captain. Alastair shared his incredible journey since graduating, a journey that took an unexpected twist. He candidly spoke about reevaluating his career path, shifting from his initial plan of studying Architecture. Alastair's gap year, spent working on a family member's farm, led him to a newfound passion for Mechatronic Engineering. He's now thriving at the University of Queensland and reminded us all that it's okay to change our minds and we don't have to have it all figured out when we graduate high school.

The event united students from various schools, fostering connections and friendships that will undoubtedly extend beyond the evening. Thank you to the representatives from Fairholme College, The Glennie School, Toowoomba State High School, St Joseph's College Toowoomba, Downlands College, St Saviour’s College, Toowoomba, Concordia Lutheran College (Official), Harristown State High School, St Ursula's College Toowoomba, Mary MacKillop Catholic College Highfields, Toowoomba Anglican School and Darling Downs Christian School for attending.

Well done to the St Mary's College Year 12 leadership group for orchestrating this remarkable gathering for our young leaders, and to our wonderful Tuckshop team for catering.
