The Sunday Mail recognises St Mary’s Academic Achievement

This week on the Sunday Mail website, a longitudual study was examined detailing an analysis regarding which schools in Queensland have most improved their senior student’s school outcomes between Year 9 (Naplan) and Year 12 (OP ranking). The study examines if the 2016 graduating class improved since they completed Naplan in Year 9. I am pleased to say that St Mary’s College was the most improved or achieved the highest gains for their students compared to all other Catholic Schools in Queensland. This is the second successive year that this has been achieved. Well done to our hardworking boys and our talented teachers. Federal Coalition MP Andrew Laming, is using this study to commence a debate regarding the use of alternative strategies to boost school data.
