QCMF – Queensland Catholic Schools and Colleges Music Festival

This Saturday, 19th August, is the 27th Annual Queensland Catholic Schools and Colleges Music Festival (QCMF). This premier event is a non-competitive event allowing ensembles to get adjudicated feedback and watch/network with their peers.

The QCMF is a celebration of all things musical covering a diverse range of genres within the classical and contemporary styles. Performers range from six to eighteen years of age and participate in brass, wind, string, percussion, jazz and choral ensembles including a magnificent combination of these in choirs, orchestras and a variety of bands. The music festival is held over three days, and is being hosted by Villanova College, Coorparoo (Brisbane). There will be 101 schools participating with 532 ensembles and 13,295 student performers.

Good luck to all students in the Concert Band, Showband and Drumline who have all entered in this event and will perform on Saturday. The College wishes to thank Mr Benn Tracy, Director of Music, and Music teachers Miss Christina Marangelli, Ms Jennifer Morgan and Mr Peter Chandler for supporting our boys and giving them the opportunity to experience such a quality event.
