Paul Dillon Drug & Alcohol Presentation

On Sunday evening and Monday, the St Mary’s College community was very privileged to have the valuable input of Mr Paul Dillon from DARTA (Drug and Alcohol Research and Training Australia). Paul has vast experience in drug and alcohol research lecturing throughout Australia in schools, various organisations and with the Cricket, Rugby Union and Soccer player Associations. Here are some thoughts from his presentations from those who couldn’t make it. I hope you find this valuable.

  • Drinking to intoxication for a young adolescent could lead to permanent brain damage
  • Delay, Delay, Delay your adolescent drinking alcohol
  • Countries that allow their adolescent to drink with their family are having similar alcohol problems to Australia
  • As a parent ‘tough love’ is best in regards to allowing your child to consume alcohol
