Congratulations goes to our Opti-MINDS Team who received Honours in their division (Runners-up) on Sunday. This was a wonderful achievement as they opposed 18 other school teams in their division. The Opti-MINDS challenge requires a group of students to work together to respond to a six week challenge.  All responses are strictly student derived, where the team are required to abide by a series of very stringent rules and regulations.  Opti-MINDS is all about participation, working as an integral part of a team, problem-solving, contributing ideas and deciding together how to meet the challenge.  After the challenge is released, teams from across the region (this year there were over 70 teams) meet six weeks later at the University of Queensland campus at Gatton to present their long-term challenge response and also participate in a ten minute spontaneous challenge.    This year, our team chose the SOCIAL SCIENCE CHALLENGE, where they considered, whether the loss of all telecommunication would have a positive or negative impact on three chosen aspects of society. By all reports, the boys mastered a polished and professional performance. Well done: Thomas Farry, Lachlan Dixon, Cooper Jones, Tanner Jones, Taner Maddocks, Roan Lambert and their coach Mrs Fiona Goodall (Primary Learning Support Teacher).
