Congratulations- Travis Maddock

Congratulations to Travis Maddock (Year 10), who was successful in his application for the Arrow Energy USQ Indigenous Student Prize in Engineering. This was a prize that was offered to all indigenous students in Queensland, with Travis one of six recipients. This prize was awarded on the basis of his commitment to his education to date, his aspirations for the future, his extra-curricular activities and the work that he currently does in both the school and the wider community.

Arrow Energy, the co-sponsor of this prize with the University Of Southern Queensland (USQ), is committed to ensuring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities benefit from their presence. One of the ways Arrow seeks to achieve this is by supporting the education of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through high school bursaries and tertiary student scholarships. Their continued partnership with the USQ has assisted in ‘closing the gap’ for Indigenous youth by directly support their education.
